PAINTING + MIXED MEDIA
I paint to find a still point, to express the spaces in-between and within the fast-paced busy-ness of our society. My current works investigate vacant lots, backyards, industrial yards, areas seen from a train — found behind road front facades. I am compelled by the echoes of moments that endure and reverberate in these spaces. I do not seek to replicate these ghosts in any literal way, but more to capture and bring our attention to the feelings and atmosphere they evoke; to the whispers that lay beneath; to celebrate the forms, lines, and textures held through moments in time.
