ABOUT THE ARTIST

I have been a photographer in Vermont for twenty-five years and have often found inspiration in the state’s light and landscapes. As a freelance photographer on assignment for state and national publications, I’ve travelled many Vermont backroads and savored the bucolic landscapes of the Green Mountains. Assignments for The New York Times, Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, Vermont Life and The Vermont Land Trust have taken me from southern Vermont to the Northeast Kingdom. In the past I would hire an airplane once or twice a year to photograph the myriad patterns on the land, from snaking rivers to orderly apple orchards. For the past three years, I’ve been using a drone to photograph Vermont’s verdant landforms shaped by man and nature. The views from above create new ways of seeing Vermont’s landscapes, a bird’s eye perspective on the place we call home.
