In my own art practice and in teaching, I realize more and more that making art is about seeing. Certainly, there is technique involved, but it is what you do with it that counts. This workshop pares down the techniques to a minimum and gets at the meat of abstract visual language. We will explore elements and fundamental concepts of composition through collage, crayons, markers, and other accessible media. This playful approach offers you a path into art-making that does not require a substantial investment in materials, one that you can engage in at the kitchen table or in your sketchbook while traveling. You can also use it as way to generate studies if you already have a regular art practice.
This workshop will be on Saturday, February 23rd, 10am-4pm at Edgewater at the Falls – lunch will be provided.
Cost of the workshop: $140/person – Advanced registration is required
