RANDI SOLIN

ARTIST BIO & STATEMENT
Randi Solin uses glass like a contemporary abstract expressionist painter. She has been working in glass for over 30 years. Her work has been collected, shown, and exhibited throughout the world, including the permanent collection at the White House, nine U.S. Embassies, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, as well as in airports, hospitals, and the private collections of royalty and celebrities around the world.
“I use a complex coloration process layering powdered glass, glass cane, glass frit, glass shard, and sometimes fine silver or gold foil. My work is thick, exploring the optics of the glass, which serve as the window into my coloration process, allowing the viewer to peer into the ‘soul’ of the piece, like the rings of a tree. All of my pieces are intellectually created on that notion, that with each finished work a history is revealed.”
