Celebrate the holidays at
Edgewater Gallery’s Winter Weekend of
Art, Music & Cheer
Saturday + Sunday December 21st & 22nd
Join us for a holiday celebration of all that is festive and bright this season, on Saturday and Sunday December 21st and 22nd.
Saturday December 21st from 11:00 – 12:30 we will host a holiday brunch event featuring jazz trio Deep Think, brunch fare and an art reception showcasing the solo exhibition “Stood Forever”, paintings by Ted Walsh. Selections of work by our full roster of artists will also be on view, including a new group of limited edition photographs in a range of sizes from Jim Westphalen, and paintings by Kathleen Kolb, Julia Purinton, Julia Jensen, William Hoyt and many more. We have new styles from jewelry artists Rebecca Haas, Julie Vos, Etkie, and Sarah Richardson and our home shop on the lower level of the gallery is full of holiday table decor, and selections of pottery, textiles, glassware, candles and home accents that will make holiday shopping a breeze.
Our brunch is free and open to all.
Sunday December 22nd 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM we invite you to set aside your holiday “To Do” list to enjoy a festive winter afternoon of piano duo music in “Shall We Dance?” presented at Town Hall Theater in Middlebury. Edgewater Gallery will host a champagne reception immediately following the performance at our 6 Merchants Row location. The reception is open to all concert attendees.
“If you’ve seen a piano duo at work, you know that it’s the most choreographic of chamber music. Four hands chase eachother across the keyboard, toss themes back and forth, swoop above and below, and search for harmonies that are both musical and visual. No wonder, then, that some of the most beloved duet music takes its inspiration from dance genres.
In their program”Shall We Dance” pianists Mairi and Nathan Harris Grewar bring a world of dance-inspired piano duet music to the Town Hall Theater stage. Five greats of Romanticism-Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, and Dvorak-whirl from the ballroom to the folk gathering and back again, with cameos by Ligeti and Debussy.”
