CJ HOCKETT

PHOTOGRAPHY

ARTIST BIO

CJ buys his first camera at Times Square, New York City. He is 14 years old. He records on film this first adventure away from the wilderness of North East Oregon. His interest in visual art continues but remains secondary to his career as a Naval Aviator, Flight Surgeon (MD) and Navy Psychiatrist.

CJ begins formal training in photography in 1998. He specializes in Wild Bird Photography utilizing Canon professional digital cameras and long telephoto lenses. His style is to reduce nature to its most basic elements and achieve a degree of abstract realism. His fine art images serve as symbolic suggestion for the viewer’s imagination. CJ hopes that his photographic art will help to preserve our natural environment, especially wildlife and their habitat.
