My art is process driven. It is abstract and without a strict narrative. I find myself strongly influenced by nature… it’s color, rhythm, lines, shapes and values. I can’t imagine starting a painting knowing where it will end up. I find that approaching a blank canvas and simply beginning with no preconceived notion of the finish, provides a great deal of fun and satisfaction.

I am known as an art quilter, exhibiting fabric and paper collages in the United States and Europe. Cloth was my first medium and inspiration, starting in childhood. I’m still drawn to fabric and occasionally make references to this tactile medium, by collaging painted, printed and stitched paper onto the stretched canvas.
