Sight Seeing: Group Exhibition

On view for the months of April and May at our Merchant’s Row Gallery, “Sight Seeing”, a group show featuring the work of painters Elizabeth Hoag, Kathryn Milillo and Julia Purinton.

“Sightseeing”, the act of seeing places and objects of interest, is defined literally, in each of the three artist’s portrayal of the landscape, but also can be applied to the way in which each of these artists reacts to and interprets their surroundings. Each has a unique way of “seeing” but there is a common theme with Hoag, Milillo and Purinton of presenting the world with a sense of reverence, calm, simplicity and awe. Each strives to extract the essence of a place, taking the traditional definition of sightseeing to a deeper level.
