We are excited to present our first online exhibition “Designs In Geometry: A Collection of Fine Jewelry by Ashka Dymel”. The Merchant’s Row Gallery is featuring twelve of Dymel’s dynamic and intricately constructed pieces, placed throughout the gallery and paired with a select group of paintings that we feel compliment and are complimented by, the jewelry artist’s work.
Ashka Dymel is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design in New York City. Her early career was in the field of architecture but she later began to work with metal and experiment with jewelry design. Her art is informed by her architectural background but also her interest in the principles of the Bauhaus, the Russian Avant Garde and mid 20th century design. Each piece is a carefully choreographed composition of mixed metals and semi precious stones constructed and balanced in a framework that highlights not only the positive but also the negative space created by the design.
The “Designs in Geometry” exhibition is not only visually beautiful show to tour but it also provides an opportunity to own a unique piece of art to wear. Whether it is a pair of earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, or a brooch, when worn, this jewelry becomes a focal point on the human figure.
Enjoy this virtual tour of the exhibition!
