ARTIST BIO

Charlotte Potter is a designer and conceptual artists who sometimes works and lives in Waitsfield, VT. She received a BFA from Alfred University in 2003 and a MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design , Glass Department in 2010. Traditionally trained as a glass blower, in 2008, she co-founded the Cirque de Verre, a performance based glass troupe that has performed at museums including the Toledo Museum of Art and the Corning Museum of Glass. Charlotte has been an artist in residences at the Pilchuck Glass School, The Art Making Machine Studios, the Creative Glass Center of America, and has taught at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work has been show internationally and is in the permanent collection of the American Museum of Glass and the Henry J. Niles, Frank Lloyd Wright house. Charlotte uses her attune aesthetic eye to marry design with bold colors; she relishes in her design line as a reprieve from her studio practice and enjoys creating this body of work for the everyday and everyone.
