EN PLEIN AIR, 2026
A Painted Celebration of Middlebury

OCTOBER 3rd & 4th
Fresh Paint Reception: October 4th, 5:30PM – 7:00PM

Featuring: Susan Abbott, Scott Addis, Tracy Burtz, Holly Friesen, Larry Horowitz, William B. Hoyt, Rory Jackson, Ethan Quillen & Rachel Wilcox

For our 2026 iteration of our beloved annual Plein Air Event, we’re returning to the heart of Middlebury Village, home to our galleries around the central village. For the first time, we’re bringing this celebration of outdoor painting to the early fall season—when the landscape takes on an entirely new character.

Join us for a weekend of wet paint and fresh air! Nine of our represented artists will take to the streets, fields, and waterways of Middlebury to paint en plein air, capturing the village and surrounding landscape in real time. This year’s lineup also includes a ceramist, who will be spinning and firing work at our Gallery at the Falls for the first time ever.

Free and open to the public—come observe the artists in action!
Saturday & Sunday | 9:30 AM–3:00 PM

On Sunday, October 4, the weekend culminates in our Fresh Paint Reception at the Gallery at the Falls, overlooking picturesque Middlebury Falls. From 5:30–7:00 PM, join us to explore and purchase the freshly created works, enjoy light fare and refreshments, and meet the artists as they share their work and creative processes.
