This dual exhibition at Edgewater Gallery brings together the work of Alexis Serio and Mel Rea, two painters who share a mastery of vivid, luminous color and an intuitive approach to abstraction. Though shaped by different regional influences—Rea from Cleveland and Serio from Texas—both artists arrive at a similar destination: expressions that exist somewhere between memory, imagination, and place.

Each artist approaches nature not as a fixed scene, but as a starting point. In Mel Rea’s work, forms remain open and suggestive, creating quiet, dreamlike environments that invite stillness and contemplation.
