Join us on Saturday March 16th, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM for the second of our  Music/Fine Art & Brunch events at the gallery at 6 Merchants Row. March can feel long as we anticipate the arrival of spring. Our Saturday brunch will provide a lift with cool jazz,  fresh coffee and brunch fare, and an inspired collection of new paintings by Bonnie Baird. The event is free and open to all.

The music for the morning will be provided by Deep Think, a Middlebury-based jazz group consisting of guitar, bass and drums. The trio performs a repertoire of contemporary and traditional instrumental jazz that includes a refined blend of standards, originals and covers of popular songs in a jazz style.

The March 16th event gives us the opportunity to introduce new Edgewater artist Bonnie Baird. 

Baird paints the landscape around her. Raised on a 730-acre dairy farm in Vermont, she and her husband Robert are the third generations to own and work their dairy/maple farm. This outdoor experience has given her a deep connection with the land. Working in the natural environment every day in every kind of weather allows her to truly feel the horizon; warm or cold, dark or light, intimate or expansive. 

 Baird’s paintings are filled with an emerging fullness of heart. In her paintings, light infuses life into atmosphere, becoming the magic that conjures a personal memory. Her paintings simultaneously evoke a simple lament and heartfelt joy. 

Using a limited palette and large simple shapes, Baird composes more than a visual observation. Her work is a perceptual experience: an intrinsic, vivid memory.
