TJ Cunningham and Sean Thomas

TJ Cunningham’s scenic paintings combine impasto and transparent brush work creating landscapes filled with both depth and natural fragility. Each painting challenges those the artist has completed before, reflecting the temporality of the shifting natural light that inspires his ‘en plein air’ painting process.

Sean Thomas similarly utilizes traditional oil painting materials and techniques to transcribe his modern and industrial landscapes. Images of cars, bridges, and highways become monumental as the artist edits and reduces the composition allowing accessible introspection.
