I make contemporary mixed metal jewelry using a unique design process. By exploiting copper’s “dirty” trait through heat patination, I can use copper as a canvas. The contrast between raw copper and the rich patinas is used to create silhouettes in the metal. I lean towards simple shapes, clean lines and asymmetry to create balance. The way in which design influences mood and evokes feelings fascinates me. I hope that my feelings of ease and poise are translated into the piece for the wearer. My jewelry will appeal to those who appreciate unique craftsmanship with timeless taste.
